FREE 12-Week Classes for
Youth and Pre-Teens
(ages 9-12):
Digital Photography
Digital imaging skills such as photo retouching and color manipulation are explored. Students learn the functions of a digital camera, while developing a critical eye for composing photographs. This course has a large emphasis on the use of the Photoshop application.
Instructor: Edwin Gonzalez-Ojeda
Fridays: 4-6pm
Graphic Design
This course will teach students how to use Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator with detailed, step-by-step instructions to create layouts with images and the use of typography. Students will draw preliminary sketches to create original, innovative designs.

FREE 12-Week Class for Teens and Young Adults
(Ages 13-21):
Darkroom Photography
Using 35mm SLR cameras, learn site-specific and studio photography techniques. Learn the history of photography, darkroom printing techniques and film developing.

ECO-MEDIA SUMMER INSTITUTE CONTINUES
INTO THE FALL 2008 SEMESTER
Teens through Young Adults
(Ages 13-21):
In partnership with Rocking the Boat - a youth boat- building and on-water education organization, students will help create downloadable videos and podcasts, creating a virtual tour of the Bronx River.
Work produced in these classes will be integrated into one digital media product that will be uploaded to our digital media kiosk and displayed in public spaces throughout the Bronx.
Prerequisite: Basic Computer skills and some digital media experience.
EcoPod
Learn how to create downloadable podcasts for Bronx River walking/paddling tours. Using Podcast Producer, capture sound recordings of tour guides, historians and our natural environment.

Thursdays: 4pm-6pm
EcoFilm
Write, use video cameras and edit footage with the same cameras software used by top filmmakers, such as Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro. This class will include shooting, editing techniques and sound recording. Students will produce several short videos that investigate the important restoration work being done along our own Bronx River.
