Join us on Wednesday, October 16th for Artistry in Service: A Celebration of Legacy and Dedication!

The gala will honor Gail Nathan, the Executive Director Emeritus of the Bronx River Art Center, who retired earlier this year. This retirement comes at the end of her 25+ year career at the Bronx River Art Center, where she was a constant advocate for BRAC and for art in the Bronx. She worked tirelessly with the Bronx arts community, as well as with politicians and many other local organizations; launched new arts programs for teens and young adults; hosted and curated art exhibitions on the local to international level; and championed public art in the Bronx — all while overseeing an ongoing robust group of classes from Painting, to Printmaking, to Pottery.

Under her leadership, BRAC underwent a $15-million-dollar capital renovation, which rejuvenated the building and transformed the space into a one-of-a-kind artistic gem in the heart of the Bronx. During this time, Gail was able to take BRAC on the road, partnering with other community-based organizations to provide off-site programming.

For 25 years, Gail Nathan has been the heart and soul of the Bronx River Art Center as its Executive Director. Her tenure has had a profound impact on both BRAC and the Bronx community, guiding the Art Center through trials and triumphs with unwavering dedication.
