In Honor of Black Lives Matter Artist Talk

In Honor of Black Lives Matter Artist Talk

July 17th / 3-5pm

Join us for a lively discussion around BRAC's gallery exhibition, In Honor of Black Lives Matter, with the exhibition's curators and artists.

Artists, curators, students and community are welcome to come to BRAC this Saturday afternoon from 3 to 5pm to explore the themes of this dynamic exhibition on its closing day. Exhibition photographers, including: Sean Waltrous, Lucy Baptiste, Jarrett Robertson, Amanda Addison and Sam Easy will dialogue with curators Shawn Batey, Ruvan Wijesooriya, Caroline Mardok, and the audience, to delve into their artistic influences, process and personal experiences. Discussions will elucidate the role of activism in art and photography, the treatment of journalists by the NYPD, the photographer's experiences covering the protests, the lack of thoughtful news representation and a collective vision for the future. Don't miss your last opportunity to view this timely and thought-provoking show.
