Dondre Green

BRAC Teaching Artist, Photography, 2016 - Present

Dondre Green, NYC native, visual artist and storyteller, is a firm believer in unconventional methods and paths. As a graphic designer and photographer, he’s very detail-oriented and keen on making sure every visual tells the story it was intended to. A true storyteller. While still very young with a lot more life to absorb and live, Dondre just enjoys riding the waves. But of course, these are the waves he’s already created. Work Featured: NPR, NY Daily News, The Bronx Free Press, News12, Vibe Magazine, Riverdale Press, Complex Magazine, Hypebeast, XXL Magazine, RESPECT Magazine, Palladium Boots, Highsnobiety, Mass Appeal, OkayPlayer, The Source, KITH, SlamXHype, RapGenius.

Why I Teach:

I teach because I want to be an asset to my community. Growing up in the public school system, there were very few times I felt teachers actually connected with the student body and had the student's best interest at heart. I've always wanted to be part of the change, and shift the perspective of how kids look at our education system. Teaching at Bronx River Art Center, in my hometown, has yielded me tremendous growth and is super fulfilling in many ways. I've learned the importance of staying organized, adapting and experimenting with different teaching styles, and most importantly, communication. Through teaching I've also had to perfect my craft. I want to continue learning and sharing what I know with others, primarily within my community. I believe in the roots.
