MSCreate Middle School Art Classes
We’re excited to welcome 6th, 7th, and 8th graders back this fall for a season of creativity and practice. Applications are open now through September 26. Check back here to register and secure your spot.
About the Program: Bronx River Art Center MSCreate is a FREE year-long program for middle school students who want to explore their creativity, experiment with new art forms, and grow as young artists. Students will work with professional teaching artists, collaborate with peers, and build their own portfolio to showcase at the end of the program.
Program Details: Begins October 6, running 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, four times a week, with one Saturday session each month. Official schedule shared after acceptance. Acceptance notices go out on October 1.
Who Can Apply: Bronx middle school students (grades 6–8). No prior art experience required, just curiosity and a willingness to learn!
Application Requirements:
- Google Form Application – Fill out your information and short-answer questions.
- Creative Work Sample – Upload 2-3 examples of something you’ve made (drawing, design, craft, photo, poem, or other project). Don’t worry if you haven’t made much yet — you can create something new for this application!
Commitment: Students are encouraged to attend weekly sessions during the school year (minimum three per week) plus one Saturday session each month. Participation in the final exhibition at BRAC is a special opportunity to share your work with the community.
How to Apply: Fill out the Google Form and upload your letter and creative samples. Submit by September 26.

Cancellation Policy: If a class does not meet capacity (7), it may be canceled, in which case students will have the option to either take another class or receive a full refund.
Unless otherwise noted, all classes include materials and use of professional equipment.
