Bronx River Art Center Gallery

Opening Reception (Free): Friday, September 26, 6-9 pm

The Bronx River Art Center is pleased to announce the upcoming exhibition Lionel Cruet: In Between, Real and Digital. Curated by Karine Duteil, the exhibition will feature Cruet's recent artworks, which employ digital platforms to spark discussions about geopolitics, nature, and technology. In Cruet's interactive environments, traditional materials such as raw canvas are combined with video projections that evoke water and other natural phenomena. Virtual and real experiences overlap, transcending the boundaries of both dimensions. Lionel Cruet lives and works in New York City and San Juan, Puerto Rico. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from La Escuela de Artes Plásticas, and a Master of Fine Arts from CUNY, The City College of New York. Cruet’s work has been presented in exhibitions including Superreal: Alternative Realities in Photography and Video at El Museo del Barrio and The 11th Media Art Biennale at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Santiago, Chile.
